The power trio unit of Portaro, DeLong and Dan Foord thrashed together since early 2011, with tour stops throughout Europe and Latin America.

Although Dan Foord was distanced across the Atlantic, the band would schedule studio time together before or after shows.
Planning an EP release
of new material called
"Old School American Way" they began shopping labels while they self-released the single "Sword Meet Skull,
Skull Meet Sword" on 6/6/13.

Portugal, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Costa Rica, the USA and the 70000 Tons Of Metal 2012 Cruise to Hell .
While Whiplash thrashed through 13 countries and 27 shows, they took every opportunity to write and record new music and to re-record classic songs that they performed in their live sets.
The band brought the WHIPLASH old school thrash metal message back to it's roots in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was the 1st non-South American band to enter new metal territory in the jungles of Cochabamba, Bolivia.
