RON LIPNICKI

Ron Lipnicki, Discogs credit

Ron Lipnicki began drumming at the age of 12 after hearing Led Zeppelin’s classic live album, "The Song Remains the Same." He formed a band with his brothers and began honing his craft. Following high school, Ron studied at Drummers Collective in NYC where under several instructors he explored various styles including Latin Jazz. He then continued studies with legendary drummer Joe Nevolo who taught him the tricks of the trade. Ron's playing had become so advanced that he was entrusted to teach Joe's students while Joe went on tour.

In 2002, Ron won the Guitar Center Drum-Off and was invited to join the legendary NJ Thrash Metal band Hades. He recorded their album "DamNation" on Metal Blade Records that same year. Ron went on to secure a deal with Overkill in 2005. Ron toured extensively with Overkill, recording five albums during his time with the band.

In 2018, Ron joined up with neighborhood musician, Tony Portaro, and began playing shows with Whiplash, including in Brazil, LA, Philly, NY, and the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise in 2020, just before the world shut down for a time under COVID regulations.

Sharing his talent with youth, Ron has worked with Metal Mike Chlasciak's at "Metal Heroes Music Academy" offering drum clinics at this summer camp.

Ron also performs with Vessel of Light, and his multi-dimentional playing puts him in a coveted seat behind numerous bands and artists who enjoy playing with his fluid style. He is one of those musicians that the saying "he makes it look easy" is talking about!
